The Production Pro NAS contains these storage components: ● The Jobs Share. The default location for hot folders is on the Production Pro NAS. See The Jobs Share on page 6 for more information. ● The content store. The content store is an internal component used by the system for the temporary storage of file assets. See The Content Store on page 8 for more information. External storage for RIP output (Folder devices) Production Pro Print Server provides the ability to save press jobs to the file system immediately after they are created by the RIPs. This functionality is called Folder devices. Folder devices are added and managed like other devices in the system - using the Manage Devices dialog box. Furthermore, each folder device must be mapped to a press controller. See Creating folder devices for RIP output on page 184. The HP Remote Production Client The Production Pro System Manager is a server. Like most servers, it is designed to be used by multiple users at the same time. Access to the server is provided by an application called the HP Remote Production Client. The HP Remote Production Client gets installed on users' systems. It provides: ● Connection and login to the Production Pro System Manager. ● The user interface. ● The locking mechanisms to prevent multiple users from editing the same data at the same time.
