Rear Panel and Ports Connecting the NetServer to AC Power When you connect the NetServer to an AC power source, the server temporarily draws additional current. This occurs even when the system is in standby mode. This "inrush current" is much greater than the server's normal operating needs. Generally, your external AC power source can handle the inrush current. If you install several NetServers on one circuit, however, precautions are necessary. If there is a power failure and power is then restored, all the servers immediately begin to draw inrush current at the same time. If the circuit breakers on the incoming power line have insufficient capacity, they may trip and thus prevent the servers from powering up. When preparing your site for installation, allow for the additional inrush current. Follow these circuit breaker recommendations before installing the server at your site: 7
