Chapter 6 Installing an Additional Processor NOTE If you are upgrading the second processor to a faster processor speed than the primary processor, the primary processor must also be changed. Both processors must have the same product number, which includes the same clock speed, cache size, and FSB speed. The supported processors only perform at the rated speed indicated on the processor in the HP Netserver. CAUTION Always wear a wrist-strap and use a static-dissipating work surface connected to the chassis when handling components. Ensure the metal of the wrist strap contacts your skin. 8. Open the ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) lever to allow removal of the terminator installed in the processor socket. See Figure 6-3. You need to pull the lever out away from the ZIF socket and then raise it to a full 90° to the system board. 49
