12. The HP StoreOnce VSA is added to SEM devices and can be found on the Device Management page. You can now use SEM to increase storage capacity and apply the purchased license, as described in the following sections. You can also use SEM management and reporting functions to assign the StoreOnce VSA to groups and users and report on performance. Refer to the StoreOnce Enterprise Manager user guide for further details. To increase storage capacity using StoreOnce Enterprise Manager The advantage of using SEM to increase storage is that it makes it easy to check that the datastore has 1 TB free space for each additional virtual disk and it automatically applies the relevant StoreOnce CLI commands to prepare and add the storage for you. You can also add storage using the vSphere client as described in the next chapter, but after power-on the vSphere client method requires you to apply the storage manually using StoreOnce CLI commands: hardware discover storage and hardware add storage. IMPORTANT: The StoreOnce VSA supports up to 10 x 1TB virtual disks. If you increase storage and notice a reduction in performance, you may also need to increase virtual resources and reboot the HP StoreOnce VSA, as described in Increasing virtual memory for optimal performance (page 40). 1.
