The device is spun up to operating speed. If the device is already spinning, the spin up sequence is not executed. During Idle mode the device is spinning and ready to respond to host commands immediately. The Idle Immediate command will not affect the auto power down timeout parameter. Unload Feature: The UNLOAD FEATURE of the IDLE IMMEDIATE command allows the host to immediately unload the heads. The device stops read look-ahead if it is in process. If the device is performing a write operation, the device suspends writing cached data onto the media as soon as possible. The data in the write cache is retained, and the device resumes writing the cached data onto the media after receiving a Software Reset, a Hardware Reset, or any new command except IDLE IMMEDIATE with UNLOAD FEATURE. 114/188
