Table 3-1 shows the default location of the Tivoli Storage Manager server options file by server platform. We recommend saving a backup copy of the existing options file before updating it. These options fall into the following categories: Communication Server storage Client server Site-dependent options Database and recovery log Data transfer Message Event logging Security and licensing Miscellaneous Make sure to set the following options before continuing any configuration on your Tivoli Storage Manager server: COMMmethod TCPport VOLUMEHistory DEVCONFig TCPADMINPORT Note: At server initialization, the server reads the server options file.
