3 BASIC OPERATION ■■Audio mute function This function temporarily mutes the audio without disturbing the volume setting. • This function is for both the MAIN and SUB bands. ➥➥Push [ ]( ) to mute audio signals. • "MUTE" appear on the left and right bands. • Push [ ]( ) (or any other key) to cancel the function. ■■Setting the microphone gain level Set the microphone gain level in the MENU mode. qqPush [MENU ]C. • Enters the MENU mode. wwRotate [DIAL]S to select "MIC G" (MIC Gain). (MENU-EXMENU > EXMEN-FUNC > FUNC-MIC G) ■■Monitor function This function is used to listen to weak signals without disturbing the squelch setting. • This function is for the MAIN band. ➥➥Push [MONI DUP]C to open or close the squelch. • "BUSY" blinks when the squelch is open. Blinks While monitoring 27 eePush [ï]D. • Goes to the next tree level. rrRotate [DIAL]S to adjust the microphone gain level. • Set higher values to make the microphone more sensitive to your voice. ttPush [ï]D. • Sets the selected value, and goes back to the previous tree level. yyPush [MAIN BAND]S. • Exits the MENU mode.
