6 The simplified ARPA operation ARPA operation DDARPA target status ARPA targets are displayed with icons. The icon vary, depending on the target type or its status. Icon  Status Focused target Displayed with the orange colored circle Selected target Displayed with corners of the square Selected, started to acquire automatically or manually. Acquired target Approximately 1 minute after the acquirement is started, the dotted circle icon changes to a circle, and the vector of the vessel is displayed. Target with a number Displayed when the "Display Target Number" setting in the ARPA menu is set to "Selected Targets" or "All". CPA/TCPA alarm mark. The target is close to within a minimum range and time. •• An alarm sounds and red colored mark blinks until acquiring the target. Push [CLEAR]/[ ] to cancel the alarm. Push [ACQ]/[ ] to acquire the target. Lost target Indicates the tracking of a target is lost. •• An alarm sounds, red cross blinks, and "Lost an ARPA target" is displayed. Push [CLEAR]/[ ] to cancel the alarm. DDCourse and speed vector The vector indicates the target's predicted, true or relative course and speed. •• The vector time may change, depending on the setting in the "Vector Time" item of the Target menu (p. 39). •• The tip of the vector shows the target's predicted position after the time selected in the "Vector Time" item of the Target menu (p. 39).
