Chapter 9 Operational Settings 9.7 Settings Related to Waiting Time Waiting Time in Manual Feed Mode [Manual-feed timeout] When you scan by manually loading one sheet at a time, you can specify the waiting time (interval) for loading the next document in the ADF paper chute (feeder). This enables continuous scanning as long as you load a document within the set time. If not, the scan is finished automatically and manual feeding will be canceled. Note that you can also press the [Stop/Clear] button on the operator panel to cancel manual feeding. 1 Start up the Software Operation Panel. For details, refer to "9.1 Starting Up the Software Operation Panel" (page 163). 2 From the listing on the left, select [Device Setting 2] [Manual-feed timeout]. 3 Specify whether to enable or disable [Manual-feed timeout]. If you selected [Enable], then also specify the time in [Paper-out detection time]. HINT When [Manual-feed timeout] is enabled, the scanner will wait for the set time even if you start scanning with no document in the ADF paper chute (feeder). This setting can also be configured in the operator panel.
