How to Open the ADF 1 Remove all documents from the ADF paper chute (feeder). 2 Pull the ADF release tab towards you to open the ADF. ADF release tab When opening, the ADF might close accidentally. Be careful not to have your fingers caught when the ADF closes. How to Close the ADF 1 Close the ADF. Push the center of the ADF until it locks in place.
