iFOIL S 4.General description [1] Speed slider: Set the iFOIL S speed. min. 4 meters / minute max. 30 meters / minute (in by-pass mode and by-pass normal mode) max. 20 meters / minute (in normal mode) [2] Selection mode slider : Enable or disable the iFOIL S. [3] Hot 1 button: Enable / disable the heating roller. Button color grey : switched OFF Button color red : switched ON [4] Hot 1 Slider : Set the temperature of the heating roller with this slider. Min: 90 °C Max: 190 °C The temperature in foil operation depend from the type of foil use, each foil must be validated by MGI. [5] Tension in: Set the speed of the tension-in roller. Min: -0.4 % Max: +0.8% Tension out : Set the speed of the tension-out roller. Min: -0.4% Max: +0.8% The tension settings are the most important settings on the iFOIL S. 80% of quality problems are due to wrong tension settings. The foil tension is mainly created by the tension-in roller and tension-out roller but other element such as unwinding axle, the main heating roller and the separating roller influence the foil tension. Tips: The value of the tension-out must be equal to the value of the tension-in + 0.2%. For example, if the tension-in is set to 0.6%, the tension-out must be 0.8% [6] Validation Button: Validate all the setting. [7] Power fan (%): Setting of the power of the vacuum fan 1 & 2. Min.: 0 % Max.: 100 % [8] Film control 1 and 2: the film control sensors can be switched ON and OFF. Button color red : switched OFF Button color green: switched ON User Manual 19
