PS5000C Operator's Manual 2.2 Shading adjustment Perform the "Shading" adjustment for correction of uneven lighting of the original. Start the following adjustment procedure after at least 10 minutes elapse from when the illumination of this unit was initiated. 1 On the book table, place the test chart for adjustment. Center of the original Adjustment table Adjustment table, 11×17-sized plain white paper 50 mm (2 inch) blocks 50 mm (2 inch) blocks Position the adjustment table based on the center of the original. 2 Put a checkmark in the checkbox of "Adjustment" and then select "2. Shading" in the Adjustment area, and click the "Start" button. 3 The following dialog appears. Click the "OK" button to start the adjustment. 4 When the screen indicating adjusting disappears, the "Shading" adjustment is completed. 5 In order to complete the shading process, the "White Balance" adjustment must be completed. 3-10

Shading adjustment
Perform the “Shading” adjustment for correction of uneven lighting of the original.
Start the following adjustment procedure after at least 10 minutes elapse from
when the illumination of this unit was initiated.

On the book table, place the test chart for adjustment.

Put a checkmark in the checkbox of “Adjustment” and then select “2.
Shading” in the Adjustment area, and click the “Start” button.

The following dialog appears. Click the “OK” button to start the adjustment.

When the screen indicating adjusting disappears, the “Shading” adjustment is
completed.

In order to complete the shading process, the “White Balance” adjustment
must be completed.
