Chapter 5 Troubleshooting 3 Trouble when scanning an image Trouble content The Scanner does not start. Application software of your computer does not find the PS5000C Scanner The image cannot be scanned properly. • Cracked • Warped • Inclined Improper image color Action • Is it connected properly? Check if the USB cable connected firmly with the Scanner and the personal computer. • Refer to Chapter 5 "2 Troubleshooting" 1. Is the original placed on the proper position? Set the original to the proper position. 2. Is the original too high? Check to make sure that the original is within 50mm of the book table. 3. Is the original setting correct? Select the proper mode, execute scanning. 1. Improper illumination on the original table? Move the Scanner. 2. Is the "White balance" adjustment proper? Readjust the "White balance". When a problem cannot be solved even after the troubleshooting described above is attempted, contact your authorized service representative. 5-5
