Flip on short edge Basic Collation EcoPrint Collate increases print speed to specify the order in which the pages of a multi-copy job are printed. With Collate selected, the print job's data is rendered as page images in the printing system's memory after it has been downloaded the first time. The remaining job copies are printed from this stored data, bypassing the process of sending down the job's data from the computer to the printing system with every copy. With Collate selected, the driver prints the complete job set by set. With Collate cleared, it prints each page by set. For example, with Collate selected, three copies of a five-page document outputs as pages one through five in succession, three times. The driver graphics image displays the grouping of collating and non-collating pages. Printing Collated Documents When printing multiple copies of a multipage document, the printer can assemble the pages of each copy in numerical order. 1 In your application, open the Print dialog box and click Properties. 2 Select the Collate check box. 3 Type or select the number of complete sets in the Number of copies box. When printing using the collate option, specify the number of copies to print. The document page count must not exceed the printer tray capacity. 4 Click OK to return to the Print dialog box, and click OK to begin printing. EcoPrint makes the entire image, text and graphics, appear lighter in the printed job. EcoPrint does not increase print speed. KX Driver 4-5
