Insight Cloud Managed WiFi 6 AX3600 Access Point Model WAX620 Return the access point to its factory default settings Under some circumstances (for example, if you lost track of the changes that you made to the access point settings or you move the access point to a different network), you might want to erase the configuration and reset the access point to factory default settings. If you do not know the current IP address of the access point, first try to use an IP scanner application to detect the IP address before you reset the access point to factory default settings. Note: You can also use the NETGEAR Insight app to discover the IP address that is assigned to the access point. For more information, see Connect over WiFi using the NETGEAR Insight app on page 25. To reset the access point to factory default settings, you can use either the Reset button on the access point or the reset function in the local browser UI. However, if you cannot find the IP address or you lost the password to access the access point, you must use the Reset button. After you reset the access point to factory default settings, the password for the admin user name is password, the access point's DHCP client is enabled, the setup SSID is shown in the format NETGEARxxxxxx-SETUP, and the default password for WiFi access is sharedsecret. If the access point does not receive an IP address from a DHCP server, the LAN IP address is set to 192.168.0.100. Use the Reset button to reset the access point You can use the Reset button to return the access point to its factory default settings. However, if you added the access point to a NETGEAR Insight network location, you must first use the Insight Cloud Portal or Insight app to remove the access point from the Insight network location before the factory default settings function of the Reset button is available.
