Setting Description Wireless Network Name (SSID) The WiFi network name of the network on which the WDS is established. The default name is Netgear-WDS-x, in which x is the number of the WDS (1, 2, 3, or 4). Note: The WiFi network name must be identical on the WiFi base station and the WiFi repeater. Local MAC Address The MAC address of the local WDS radio interface, that is, the MAC address of the local radio on which the WDS is established. You cannot change this MAC address on this page. The MAC address is displayed for your information. Enter this MAC address on the remote access point of the WDS connection. Remote MAC Address The MAC address of the remote WDS radio interface, that is, the MAC address of the remote radio on which the WDS is established. Network Authentication, Data Encryption, and Passphrase By default, the selection from the menu is Open, in which case authentication and data encryption are not applicable. To secure the WDS connection, select WPA2 Personal and specify the following settings: • Encryption: The data encryption is AES and you cannot change this setting. • Passphrase: The passphrase for the WDS connection. For you to enable the WDS connection, the passphrase on the remote access point must match the passphrase that you define in this field. 9. Click the Apply button. Your settings are saved. 10.
