To use bi-amping or bridging, you must change the "Speaker Type" setting. For hookup information, see pages 27-30. Notes: • When bridging is used, the AV receiver is able to drive up to 5.1 speakers in the main room. • When bi-amping is used, the AV receiver is able to 5 drive up to 5.1 speakers in the main room. • Before you change these settings, turn down the vol- ume. The onscreen menus shown in this manual may be slightly different from what you see on your TV. 1 Press the [RECEIVER] button, followed by the [SETUP] button. The main menu appears onscreen. If the main menu doesn't appear, make sure the appropriate external input is selected on your TV. 2 Use the Up and Down [R]/[X] but- tons to select "2. Speaker Setup", and then press [ENTER]. THX Audio Setup Use the Up and Down [R]/[X] buttons to select "1. Speaker Settings", and then press [ENTER]. The "Speaker Settings" menu appears. 2-1. Speaker Settings Speaker impedance Speaker Type Front(Speaker A) Front(Speaker B) 6ohms Normal Not Use MOVE VALUE RETURN RETURN SETUP EXIT Use the Up and Down [R]/[X] buttons to select "Speaker impedance", and use the Left and Right [F]/[S] buttons to select: 4ohms: Select if the impedance of any speaker is 4 ohms or more but less than 6. 6ohms: Select if the impedances of all speakers are between 6 and 16 ohms. Use the Up and Down [R]/[X] buttons to select "Front(Speaker A)", and use the Left and Right [F]/[S] buttons to select: Normal: Select this if you've connected your front Speakers A normally. Bi-Amp: Select this if you've connected your front Speakers A for bi-amped operation. BTL: Select this if you've connected your front Speakers A for bridged operation. The BTL indicator will appear on the display. Note: "Bi-Amp" and "BTL" cannot be selected if "Front(Speaker B)" is set to "Bi-Amp" or "BTL". 61
