Symptom Cause and/or Corrective Actions The external flash (optional) does not work. • The power of the flash is not turned on, or the flash is not attached correctly. • Two or more flashes are attached. Only one external flash can be attached. The flash level cannot be changed. • The flash level cannot be changed during Easy Handycam operation. Flickering or changes in color occurs. cThis occurs when recording pictures under a fluorescent lamp, sodium lamp, or mercury lamp in the soft portrait or sports lesson mode. Cancel [PROGRAM AE] in this case. (p. 64) END SEARCH does not work. • The cassette was ejected after recording when using a cassette without Cassette Memory. (p. 125) • The cassette is new and has nothing recorded. END SEARCH does not work correctly. • There is a blank section in the beginning or middle of the tape. This is not a malfunction. Playback If you are playing back the pictures stored on a "Memory Stick Duo," refer also to the "Memory Stick Duo" section.
