Transmitting with External Equipment Using the External Serial Terminal - Serial setting Menu When you click Serial of the Administrator menu, Serial setting menu is displayed. In this menu, you can input data into the camera from the computer via a network and output them to the external serial interface, and control a peripheral device. You can input data from a peripheral device via an external serial interface and output them to the computer via a network. Tour selection You can activate the tour according to the schedule. Administrating the Camera Selected tour name Select the tour name A to E you want to activate. Select None if you do not want to activate any tour or if you want to stop the tour in action. Effective period Select the period for which the tour activates. Always: The tour can be activated any time. Use scheduler: The tour is activated according to the schedule you have set. Resume time on inactivity You can operate PanTilt or Zoom during the tour, or select the tour activity after the preset activity by the alarm. On: Specify the wait time before the tour restarts, between 5 and 600 seconds. The tour restarts automatically after the specified time has elapsed. Off: The tour does not restart. None is displayed on Selected tour name. Mode Select a mode from TCP port or the camera control with VISCA protocol for transmitting data via a network. TCP: When you select TCP, input and output data through the external serial transmission port can be sent and received by specifying the port number in TCP port number. You can check easily by DOS command "telnet host name port number". VISCA: Select it when you control the camera with VISCA protocol. As for the command list of VISCA protocol, refer to the dealer of your camera or Sony Commercial Products Service Counter nearby. When you click
Serial
of the Administrator menu,
Serial setting menu is displayed.
In this menu, you can input data into the camera from the
computer via a network and output them to the external
serial interface, and control a peripheral device.
You can

interface and output them to the computer via a network.
Mode
Select a mode from TCP port or the camera control with
VISCA protocol for transmitting data via a network.
TCP:
When you select TCP, input and output data
through the external serial transmission port can be
sent and received by specifying the port number in
TCP port number. You can check easily by DOS
command “telnet
host name
port number
”.
VISCA:
Select it when you control the camera with
VISCA protocol. As for the command list of VISCA
protocol, refer to the dealer of your camera or Sony
Commercial Products Service Counter nearby.
Notes
