Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) The Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) which is incorporated in the domestic DAT equipments prevents repeated digital dubbing from one equipment to another. However, this system lets you record at least one generation of digital prerecorded software via digital connections. Hold down the RESET button during recording, recording monitor, playback, or pause modes when the tape counter is not displayed and then press the COUNTER button for more than 2 seconds.
