It is available as a special accessory. 3 2 2 5 N If necessary, swing the pawls (2) inwards. N Rotate the spring clip (3) out of the recesses (4) in the carrier (5). 6 4 N Position the tensioning wrench in the carrier so that the peg (6) engages one of the recesses (4). 9926BA038 KN 9926BA037 KN N Use starter grip to pull out the starter rope as far as stop. N Hold the tensioning wrench and the starter mechanism steady so that the rope does not rewind onto the rope rotor. N Grip the rope inside the housing, pull it out to its full length and make a loop. N Allow tensioning wrench to rotate slowly and thus release spring tension - the rope winds itself around the tensioning wrench in this process until the spring is no longer under tension. N Remove the tensioning wrench from the carrier. 9926BA040 KN N Use a screwdriver or suitable pliers to remove the spring clip (3) from the starter post. N Carefully remove the E-clip (7). 9 5 2 8 N Carefully remove the carrier (5) with pawls (2) and washer (8) and put them to one side so that the pawls and washer cannot fall out. N Pull the rope rotor (9) off the starter post. The rewind spring may pop out and uncoil during this operation - take care to avoid the risk of injury. FS 510 C-M, FS 560 C-M 39

Releasing Tension on Rewind Spring
N
Use the tensioning wrench. It is
available as a special accessory.
N
If necessary, swing the pawls (2)
inwards.
N
Rotate the spring clip (3) out of the
recesses (4) in the carrier (5).
N
Position the tensioning wrench in
the carrier so that the peg (6)
engages one of the recesses (4).
N
Use starter grip to pull out the starter
rope as far as stop.
N
Hold the tensioning wrench and the
starter mechanism steady so that
the rope does not rewind onto the
rope rotor.
N
Grip the rope inside the housing,
pull it out to its full length and make
a loop.
N
Allow tensioning wrench to rotate
slowly and thus release spring
tension – the rope winds itself
around the tensioning wrench in this
process until the spring is no longer
under tension.
N
Remove the tensioning wrench from
the carrier.
Removing the Rope Rotor
N
Use a screwdriver or suitable pliers
to remove the spring clip (3) from
the starter post.
N
Carefully remove the E-clip (7).
N
Carefully remove the carrier (5) with
pawls (2) and washer (8) and put
them to one side so that the pawls
and washer cannot fall out.
N
Pull the rope rotor (9) off the starter
post.
The rewind spring may pop out and
uncoil during this operation –
take care
to avoid the risk of injury
