In the network management area, this group is responsible for the development of the SNMP protocol. Infra-structure mode Infra-Structure mode is the 802.11g configuration supported by the Access Point. You will need to ensure all of your clients are set up to use infra-structure mode in order for them to communicate with the Access Point. (see also Ad Hoc mode) IP Internet Protocol. IP is a layer 3 network protocol that is the standard for sending data through a network. IP is part of the TCP/IP set of protocols that describe the routing of packets to addressed devices. An IP address consists of 32 bits divided into two or three fields: a network number and a host number or a network number, a subnet number, and a host number. IP Address Internet Protocol Address. LANs are characterized by high transmission speeds over short distances (up to 1000 metres). MAC Media Access Control. A protocol specified by the IEEE for determining which devices have access to a network at any one time.
