ICP RAID Console ICP RAID Console 10 10.1 The ICP RAID Console (ICPCON) is a full-featured monitoring and configuration utility with a text-based user interface. ICPCON manages all aspects of the RAID subsystem as well as many features of the RAID adapter. There are two methods for running the ICPCON program. As part of the ICP RAID controller's expansion ROM, it can be loaded at system boot level by pressing + when prompted. ICPCON can also be launched as an application within a host OS. ICP RAID Navigator (ICP RAID Navigator) is a graphical user interface implementation of ICPCON. ICP RAID Navigator has similar features and functionality to ICPCON, with few exceptions. However, ICP RAID Navigator runs on Microsoft Windows-based systems only. More information on ICP RAID Navigator can be found in Chapter 11, "ICP RAID Navigator". ICPCON Features ICPCON features include • diagnosis and configuration functions • online capacity expansion of disk arrays • host drives which can be setup and configured under normal operation • monitoring functions which indicate the performance of the various components, cache statistics • enhanced repair functions for disk arrays with failed drives ICPCON is • available for NetWare 4.2x/5.x/6.x Windows NT, Windows 2000, Linux, SCO UnixWare, SCO OpenServer, and Berkeley UNIX FreeBSD • loadable locally (on the server) or remotely from an authorized workstation (support of various protocols) • available as both an executable program under various operating systems, and a ROM- resident program loadable with + at system boot level (for example, without an OS) Software Installation and User's Guide 93

The ICP RAID Console (ICPCON) is a full-featured monitoring and configuration utility
