Error Message Drum Near End Cause The drum unit is near the end of its life. Action Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem; then replace the drum unit with a new one. See Replacing the drum unit (DR-520) on page 76 The drum counter was not reset when a new drum was installed. 1. Open the front cover, and then press Clear/Back. Duplex The duplex tray is not installed Disabled properly. (DCP-8065DN only) Dust on Drum The primary corona wire on the drum unit needs to be cleaned. 2. Press 1 to reset. Remove the duplex tray and install it again. Clean the primary corona wire on the drum unit. (See Cleaning the corona wire on page 71.) Fuser Error The temperature of fuser unit does Turn the power switch off, wait a few seconds, not rise at a specified temperature and then turn it on again. Leave the machine for within specified time. 15 minutes with the power on. No Paper No Tray Out of Memory The fuser unit is too hot. The machine is out of paper or paper is not properly loaded in the paper tray. The paper tray is not completely closed. The machine's memory is full. Do one of the following: Refill the paper in the paper tray or MP tray. Remove the paper and load it again. Close the paper tray properly. Copy operation in progress Do one of the following: Press Start to copy the scanned pages. Press Stop/Exit and wait until the other operations in progress finish, and then try again. Printing operation in process Do one of the following: Reduce print resolution. (See Advanced tab in the Software User's Guide on the CD-ROM.) Clear the data from the memory by pressing Job cancel. Paper Jam Back Paper Jam Duplex The paper is jammed in the back of the machine. The paper is jammed in the duplex tray. (See Paper jams on page 63.) (See Paper jams on page 63.)
