Understanding the printer menus 70 Use Use SSL Disabled Negotiate Required SMTP Server Authentication No authentication required Login/Plain CRAM‑MD5 Digest‑MD5 NTLM Kerberos 5 Device‑Initiated E‑mail None Use Device SMTP Credentials Device Userid Device Password To Set the printer to use SSL for increased security when connecting to the SMTP server. Notes: • Disabled is the factory default setting. • When the Negotiate setting is used, the SMTP server determines if SSL will be used. Specify the type of user authentication required for printing privileges. Note: "No authentication required" is the factory default setting. Specify what credentials will be used when communicating to the SMTP server. Some SMTP servers require credentials to send an e-mail. Notes: • None is the factory default setting for Device‑Initiated E‑mail. • Device Userid and Device Password are used to log in to the SMTP server when Use Device SMTP Credentials is selected. Security menu Security Audit Log menu Use Export Log Delete Log Delete now Do not delete To Let an authorized user export the audit log. Notes: • To export the audit log from the printer control panel, connect a flash drive to the printer. • You can also download the audit log from the Embedded Web Server, and then save it on your computer. Specify whether or not audit logs are deleted. Note: Delete now is the factory default setting.
