Figure 2: Powering on the HP Media Vault To power on the HP Media Vault 1 Plug one end of the power cable into the AC adaptor and the other end into an electrical outlet. 2 Plug the AC adaptor into the HP Media Vault. 3 Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Media Vault and the other end to an available Ethernet port on your router. 4 Press the Power button on the back of the Media Vault. The indicator lights blink throughout the startup process. Once the Media Vault is initialized and ready, the lights are solid blue. Checking the HP Media Vault Status The lights on the front of the HP Media Vault give you information about the status and health of your hard drives, power supply, network connection, and overall Media Vault health. In addition to the Media Vault indicator lights, the system tray and alert log provide information about the health of the system. To power on the HP Media Vault

Plug one end of the power cable into the AC adaptor and the other end
into an electrical outlet.

Plug the AC adaptor into the HP Media Vault.

Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Media Vault and the other
