Backing up the HP Media Vault to a USB Device Creating backups of your files ensures you have a copy that can be restored to your HP Media Vault if you experience accidental deletions or mechanical failures. To back up shared folders 1 Plug a USB device into the HP Media Vault. For additional information, see Adding and Removing an External USB Device on page 10-128. 2 At the computer, click Start, All Programs, HP Media Vault, and then Control Center. 3 On the Backup tab, click Backup HP Media Vault. You are prompted for an administrator name and password if you set one up. For additional information, see Editing System Settings on page 2-26. 4 Check the Shared Folder Names to back up. The following default shared folders are listed. If you created others, they are also listed. As you check folders, their total space required for backup is calculated. ƒ Backup Location of files backed up by PC Backup software. ƒ Documents The pre-configured folder that you can use for documents, graphics, and other personal files. ƒ Music The pre-configured folder that you can use for audio files, such as those you download from the Internet or save on your hard drive. ƒ Photos The pre-configured folder that you can use for photographs. Backing up the HP Media Vault to a USB Device
Creating backups of your files ensures you have a copy that can be restored
to your HP Media Vault if you experience accidental deletions or mechanical

To back up shared folders
