Light path diagnostics feature overview Use the light path diagnostics to quickly identify the system errors that occurred in that server. The light path diagnostics panel is located inside the light path diagnostics drawer, on the front right of the server. To access the light path diagnostics panel, press on the front of the light path diagnostics drawer. The light path diagnostics panel will be exposed. Light path diagnostics Your server is designed so that any light path diagnostics LEDs that are lit can be lit again without ac power after you open the cover. This feature helps you isolate a problem if an error causes the server to shut down. See "Light path diagnostics table" on page 78 for information about identifying problems using these LEDs. Important: You have up to 12 hours to use the light path diagnostics LEDs after ac power has been removed from the server. After 12 hours, you must turn on the server again to be able to use the light path diagnostics LEDs to identify system errors. Complete the following steps to view the LEDs when the server cover has been opened: 1. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices; then, disconnect all external cables from the server. 2.
