If you haven't created a Google account on the phone or cannot remember it, you will have to carry out a factory reset. 5. Connecting to Wi-Fi networks To use Wi-Fi on your phone you need to access a wireless access point or "hotspot." Some access points are open, and you can simply connect to them. Others are hidden or have other security features, so you must configure your phone to connect to them. Turn off Wi-Fi when you're not using it to extend the life of your battery. To turn Wi-Fi on and connect to a Wi-Fi network: 1 On the home screen, touch the Applications tab and select Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings. 2 Touch Wi-Fi to turn it on and start scanning for available Wi-Fi networks. • A list of available Wi-Fi networks is displayed. Secured networks are indicated by a lock icon. 3 Touch a network to connect to it. • If the network is open, you are prompted to confirm you want to connect to that network by touching Connect. • If the network is secured, you are prompted to enter a password or other credentials. (Ask your network administrator for details.) 4 The status bar displays icons indicating Wi-Fi status.

5. Connecting to Wi-Fi
