11 Fn key 13 Volume control buttons 12 PCI Express Mini Card slot for wireless LAN/WiMAX card 14 Black button 1 Integrated camera (on some models) Some models have an integrated camera. Use the camera to take pictures or hold a video conference. For more information about how to use the camera, see "Using the integrated camera" on page 40. 2 Built-in microphone (on some models) The built-in microphones capture sound and voice when it is used with an application program capable of handling audio. 3 Status indicators Your computer has several status indicators. For the detailed information about the location and meaning of each indicator, see "Status indicators" on page 8. 4 Power button Use the power button to turn on the computer. To turn off the computer, use the shut down option on the Start menu. If your computer stops responding and you cannot turn it off, press and hold the power button for 4 seconds or more. If the computer is still not responding, remove the ac power adapter and the battery to reset the computer. The power button also can be programmed through the Power Manager program to shut down the computer or put it into sleep or hibernation mode. UltraNav® pointing device 5 TrackPoint pointing stick 8 Touch pad buttons 9 Touch pad 10 TrackPoint buttons The keyboard contains the Lenovo unique UltraNav pointing device. Pointing, selecting, and dragging are all part of a single process that you can perform without moving your fingers from typing position. For more information, see "Using the UltraNav pointing device" on page 24. 6 Fingerprint reader (on some models) Some models have a fingerprint reader. The fingerprint authentication technology enables you to use your fingerprint to power on the computer, enter the ThinkPad Setup program, or enter the Windows® operating system. For details, see "Using a fingerprint reader" on page 54. 7 Bluetooth card If your computer is equipped with a Bluetooth card, use the Bluetooth feature to connect peripheral devices to your computer for data transfer or other operation. For more information, see "Using Bluetooth" on page 33. 11 Fn key Use the Fn key to take advantage of ThinkPad® function keys, such as locking the computer, managing the wireless connections, and so on.
