SiteAdvisor Web Reputation Use this page to control access to websites according to their McAfee SiteAdvisor® classification. Web | Web Policies | Scanning Policies [Web reputation and Categorization] -- SiteAdvisor Web Reputation SiteAdvisor classifies sites according to their behavior or reputation, enabling policies on the appliance to block access or issue warnings about unsuitable websites. SiteAdvisor reduces nuisances such as spam and adware that users might receive from some websites. If you have selected Timed setting, you can also specify periods when the access to websites can vary. For example: • Weekdays - During daytime on Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., allow access only to sites classified as SiteAdvisor - Tested OK. • Weekday evenings - During the evenings Monday - Friday, allow access to sites classified as SiteAdvisor - Use caution. • Weekend - On Saturday and Sunday, coach access to sites classified as SiteAdvisor - Warning. Table 181 Option definitions Option When (for Timed Settings only) Classification Code Action Definition Specifies the period when these settings for SiteAdvisor apply. Choose a suitable name such as Weekdays, Evenings, or Weekend. Displays the symbol that users see when they try to visit a website. Displays the action that the appliance takes, such as Deny Access. The Untested classification includes internal web sites and network infrastructure. If the action is set to Deny Access, this access is blocked, and unexpected problems might arise. For example, if management access to the appliance is through the appliance, then the appliance will block access to its own web pages. McAfee Email and Web Security Appliances 5.6.0 Product Guide 189
