Overview of System features Virtual Hosting 3 Apply the changes to the appliance. 4 Go to Email | Email policies | Scanning policies. 5 Click Add policies, and type a policy name. 6 Select the Virtual policy type. 7 Go to System | Virtual Hosting | Virtual Hosts. 8 In Base scanning policy, select the Virtual policy in a new virtual host, or an existing one. Add Virtual Host Use this wizard to specify a virtual host. System | Virtual Hosting | Virtual Hosts | Add Virtual Host You can specify the addresses where the appliance receives or intercepts traffic on the Inbound Address Pool. After you have selected Enable virtual hosting on this appliance, you can create virtual policies. Basic Host Settings page Table 248 Option definitions Option Virtual host name and Description Definition Specify a unique name and description of the virtual host that is used by other locations on the appliance user interface, such as: • Email Configuration • Email Policies • Message Search • Reports Host name Domain name ( - Icon for virtual appliance.) This value is used in the SMTP greeting banner. If the host name is a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), the domain name does not appear in the SMTP greeting banner. Displays the domain name of the virtual host. The domain name has the form domain.dom and must be unique across all virtual hosts. If the host name is a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), the domain name does not appear in the SMTP greeting banner. Base scanning policy Offers a choice of policies from the physical host, or allows you to specify a new policy. You can choose to create sub-policies for the physical host here for the virtual host. To view all the policies at any time, select Email | Email Policies | Scanning Policies on the navigation bar. Base protocol preset Offers a choice of presets from the physical host, or allows you to specify a new preset. Presets are the connection-based policies.
