Camera maintenance After use Turn the camera off. Cleaning the camera 1 Close the lens barrier to turn the camera off. Make sure that the monitor is turned off. 2 Remove the batteries ( P.15). (If you are using an AC adapter, unplug the AC adapter from the camera first before removing the plug from the AC outlet.) 3 Exterior: o Wipe gently with a soft cloth. If the camera is very dirty, soak the cloth in mild soapy water and wring well. Wipe the camera with the damp cloth and then dry it with a dry cloth. If you have used the camera at the beach, use a cloth soaked in clean water and well wrung. Monitor and viewfinder: o Wipe gently with a soft cloth. Lens: o Blow dust off the lens with a commercially available blower, and wipe gently with a lens cleaning paper. Card: o Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. • Do not use strong solvents such as benzene or alcohol, or chemically treated cloth. 8 Note • Cleaning should be done only after the batteries have been removed or the AC adapter has been disconnected. • Mold may form on the lens surface if the lens is left dirty. 130 Miscellaneous

Make sure that the monitor is turned off.
