If correct focus cannot be obtained When correct focus cannot be obtained on the subject you want to shoot, you can focus the camera on another point at roughly the same distance (focus lock) and take the picture as explained below. Determine the position of the subject after focusing (Focus Lock) 1 Open the lens barrier fully. • The camera turns on in the shooting mode. 3 2 Position the AF target mark on the subject you want to focus on. Shooting basics • When shooting a hard-to-focus subject, point the camera at an object about the same distance away as the subject. Viewfinder Green lamp AF target mark 3 Press the shutter button halfway until the green lamp lights. • The focus and exposure are locked, the green lamp lights steadily. • When the green lamp blinks, the Shutter button focus and exposure are not locked. Release your finger from the shutter button, re-position your subject and press the shutter button halfway again. 48
