Basic Operation Selecting and Playing Voices Adding variation to the sound [BRILLIANCE]/[REVERB]/[CHORUS] The Effect function enables you to add expression to the sound. The Clavinova effects include Brilliance, Reverb, and Chorus. [CHORUS] button [REVERB] button BRILLIANCE [MELLOW] [BRIGHT] button [BRILLIANCE] You can use this control to adjust the brilliance of the tone and change the tonality to suit your preference. Procedure Press one of the BRILLIANCE [MELLOW]/ [BRIGHT] buttons to select the desired tonality. A B Brilliance Normal NO YES C D Mellow3 Mellow2 Mellow1 Soft and mellow tone. The sound becomes more mellow and rounder as the number increases. Normal.......... Standard tone. Bright1 Bright2 Bright3 Bright tone. The sound becomes brighter as the number increases. Press the [EXIT] button to return to the main screen. TIP You can press BRILLIANCE [MELLOW] [BRIGHT] buttons, and then use D [-][+] buttons to select the desired tonality. TIP Normal setting = Normal TERMINOLOGY Normal setting: The "Normal setting" refers to the default setting (factory setting) obtained when you first turn on the power to the Clavinova. TIP If you select [Bright1], [Bright2] or [Bright3] as the type of brilliance, the volume level will increase slightly. Under this condition, if you raise the [MASTER VOLUME] dial setting, the sound may become distorted. In this case, lower the volume accordingly. CLP-380 Owner's Manual 25
