Fast forwarding and fast reversing ■ Fast forwarding and fast reversing Press and hold down the [Y] button during playback to fast forward the currentlyplaying file. Press and hold down the [T] button during playback to fast reverse the currently-playing file. Release the button at the point from which you wish to play. Playback will resume immediately from that point. ■ Locating the file to play back Press the [Y] button once briefly while the unit is playing or stopped to locate the beginning of the next file. Press the [T] button once briefly to locate the beginning of the previous file. ■ Locating the index While the unit is playing back a file that contains index marks, press the [Y] button once briefly to skip to the next index mark. Press the [T] button once briefly to locate the previous index mark. Hint: · For information on inserting index marks, refer to page 40. Using headphones Use headphones if you do not want sound to be output from the speaker or if the sound from the speaker is difficult to hear. Connect the headphones to the headphones socket located on the side panel of the unit. You can listen to music and enjoy better sound quality by using the headphones and setting the Sound EQ function (see page 34). Fast forwarding and fast reversing
Fast forwarding and fast reversing
Press and hold down the [
Y
] button during playback to fast forward the currently-
playing file. Press and hold down the [
T
] button during playback to fast reverse the
currently-playing file.
Release the button at the point from which you wish to play. Playback will resume
immediately from that point.
Locating the file to play back
Press the [
Y
] button once briefly while the unit is playing or stopped to locate the
beginning of the next file.
Press the [
T
] button once briefly to locate the beginning of the previous file.
Locating the index
While the unit is playing back a file that contains index marks, press the [
Y
] button
once briefly to skip to the next index mark.
Press the [
T
] button once briefly to locate the previous index mark.

Using headphones
Use headphones if you do not want sound to be output from the speaker or if the sound from
the speaker is difficult to hear. Connect the headphones to the headphones socket located on the
side panel of the unit.
You can listen to music and enjoy better sound quality by using the headphones and setting the
Sound EQ function (see
page 34
).
