Engine Overheating You will find a coolant temperature gage and a warning light about a hot engine on yourinstrument panel. See "Engine Coolant Temperature Gage" and"Engine Coolant Temperature WarningLight" in the Index. You also have a LOW COOLANT light on your instrument panel. See "Low Coolant Light" in the Index. GAL JON: Steam from an overheated engine can burn you badly, even if you just open the hood. Stay away from the engine you see or hear steam if coming from it. Just turn it off and get everyone away from thevehicle until it cools down. Wait until there is no sign steam or coolant before of you open thehood. If you keep driving when your engine is overheated, the liquids in it can catch You or fire. others could be badlyburned. Stop your engine if it overheats, andget out of the vehicle until the engine is cool. If Steam Is Coming FromYour Engine NOTICE: If your engine catches fire because keep you driving with no coolant, your vehicle can be badly damaged.
