59 Parameter Description Option Execute Disable Bit Select whether to enable the Intel Execute Disable Bit (XD) function. The XD function allows the processor to divide the system memory into areas for storage of processor instructions or for storage of data. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation. Enabled Disabled Virtualization Technology Select whether to enable the Intel Virtualization Technology function. VT allows a single platform to run multiple operating systems in independent partitions.
