DC Power Supply Considerations OmniSwitch 6855 Series Chassis and Hardware Components DC Power Supply Considerations In addition to the installation steps described in "Connecting a Power Supply Directly to the Chassis" on page 3-6 and "Rack Mounting the Power Supply Tray" on page 3-7 DC power supplies have the following additional considerations: • Connect to a -48V reliably grounded DC SELV source if using either a PS-120I80DC48 or PSI40DC2448(E) power supply. • Connect to a 24V reliably grounded DC SELV source if using a PS-100I80DC24 or PS-I40DC2448(E) power supply. • Use common DC return connections for the DC power supplies. The DC return terminal conductor should be connected to the equipment frame. • The Branch Circuit Overcurrent Protection must be rated a Maximum of 15A. • Use 12AWG conductors only. • A readily accessible disconnect device that is suitably approved and rated shall be incorporated in the field wiring. Refer to the wiring diagram for information on connecting the DC power supply to a DC power source. Connecting a DC Power Source The DC power supply on your switch contains a power connector with three (3) square slots for connecting the positive, negative, and ground wires from a DC power source.
