Symptom Recurring smudges Possible Cause Dirt in the paper path. The print head cartridge or transfer roll cartridge is old or damaged. Action Print several blank sheets. Check the print head cartridge and transfer roll cartridge and replace them as necessary. Hair-like marks appear around black halftone printing The paper was left unwrapped for a long time (especially in a dry environment). Replace the paper.
