6.8 The Alarm Indicator is On or Flashing The red alarm indicator on the control panel indicates that there is a problem with the printer. Refer to the sections below. Ready Alarm 6.8.1 The Alarm Lamp is On When the alarm lamp is on, it indicates a paper jam or other problem that you can rectify yourself. Rectify the problem according to the message displayed on the control panel. See For detailed information about the meaning of error messages, refer to 6.7 "What to Do When an Error Message Appears", and correct the error as instructed. 6.8.2 The Alarm Lamp is Flashing When the alarm lamp is flashing, it indicates a problem that you cannot rectify yourself. Write down the message and error code displayed, turn off the printer and contact your dealer or Brother authorized service representative. 6-22
