Chapter 2 Installing the Access Point Mounting Above a Suspended Ceiling Mounting Above a Suspended Ceiling The access point mounting plate is designed to be integrated into the T-bar grid above the tiles of a suspended ceiling. Using adjustable-height box hanger mount systems (not supplied) such as the B-Line BA50A or Caddy 512A, you orient the access point antenna just above the top surface of a standard ceiling tile. You may need to modify a thicker tile to allow room for the antenna. Three options are available for mounting your access point above a suspended ceiling. The first, and preferred option is the B-line system. This mounting system replaces the original Caddy system and provides a more secure above ceiling installation (see Figure 2-4).
