If the VRRP group misses 3 consecutive advertisements, then the election process begins and the BACKUP virtual router with the highest priority transitions to MASTER. Note: Dell Force10 recommends you to increase the VRRP advertisement interval to a value higher than the default value of 1 second to avoid throttling VRRP advertisement packets.
