5 Getting Started This chapter contains the following major sections: • Default Configuration • Configure a Host Name • Access the System Remotely • Configure the Enable Password • Configuration File Management • File System Management When you power up the chassis, the system performs a Power-On Self Test (POST) during which Route Processor Module (RPM), Switch Fabric Module (SFM), and line card status LEDs blink green.The system then loads FTOS and boot messages scroll up the terminal window during this process. No user interaction is required if the boot process proceeds without interruption. When the boot process is complete, the RPM and line card status LEDs remain online (green), and the console monitor displays the Force10 banner and EXEC mode prompt, as shown in the following example.
