Advertise Neighbor Prefixes Specify which IPv6 prefixes are include in Neighbor Advertisements. By default, all prefixes configured as addresses on the interface are advertised. You can control the advertise parameters per prefix; the default keyword can be used to use the default parameters for all prefixes. Command Syntax Command Mode ipv6 nd prefix {ipv6-address/prefix-length> | default} [no-advertise] | [no-autoconfig] [no-rtr-address] [off-link] [lifetime {valid | infinite} { preferred | infinite}] INTERFACE Purpose Specify which IPv6 prefixes are include in Neighbor Advertisements. QoS for IPv6 c e s IPv6 QoS is supported on platforms: FTOS IPv6 supports quality of service based on DSCP field. You can configure FTOS to honor the DSCP value on incoming routed traffic and forward the packets with the same value. Refer to Chapter 44, Quality of Service for details. Refer also to the Honor DSCP values on ingress packets in the QoS chapter for information relating to the trust diffserv command. IPv6 Multicast c e s IPv6 Multicast is supported on platforms: FTOS supports the following protocols to implement IPv6 multicast routing: • Multicast Listener Discovery Protocol (MLD). MLD on a multicast router sends out periodic general MLD queries that the switch forwards through all ports in the VLAN. There are two versions of MLD: MLD version 1 is based on version 2 of the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) for IPv4, and MLD version 2 is based on version 3 of the IGMP for IPv4. IPv6 multicast for FTOS supports versions 1 and 2 • PIM-SM. Protocol-Independent Multicast-Sparse Mode (PIM-SM) is a multicast protocol in which multicast receivers explicitly join to receive multicast traffic. The protocol uses a router as the root or Rendezvous Point (RP) of the share tree distribution tree to distribute multicast traffic to a multicast group. Messages to join the multicast group (Join messages) are sent towards the RP and data is sent from senders to the RP so receivers can discover who are the senders and begin receiving traffic destined to the multicast group. Advertise Neighbor Prefixes

Specify which IPv6 prefixes are include in Neighbor Advertisements. By default, all prefixes configured as

addresses on the interface are advertised. You can control the advertise parameters per prefix; the

default

keyword can be used to use the default parameters for all prefixes.

FTOS IPv6 supports quality of service based on DSCP field. You can configure FTOS to honor the DSCP

value on incoming routed traffic and forward the packets with the same value.

FTOS supports the following protocols to implement IPv6 multicast routing:

Multicast Listener Discovery Protocol (MLD).

MLD on a multicast router sends out periodic general

MLD queries that the switch forwards through all ports in the VLAN.

There are two versions of MLD:

MLD version 1 is based on version 2 of the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) for IPv4,

and MLD version 2 is based on version 3 of the IGMP for IPv4.

IPv6 multicast for FTOS supports

PIM-SM. Protocol-Independent Multicast-Sparse Mode (PIM-SM) is a multicast protocol in which

multicast receivers explicitly join to receive multicast traffic. The protocol uses a router as the root or

Rendezvous Point (RP) of the share tree distribution tree to distribute multicast traffic to a multicast

group. Messages to join the multicast group (Join messages) are sent towards the RP and data is sent

from senders to the RP so receivers can discover who are the senders and begin receiving traffic

destined to the multicast group.
