Removing the power button and optional fingerprint reader discrete Prerequisites 1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer. 2. Remove the base cover. 3. Remove the battery (3-cell or 4-cell). 4. Remove the system fan. 5. Remove the M.2 2280 SSD or M.2 2230 SSD. 6. Remove the I/O board. 7. Remove the coin-cell battery. Unplug the fingerprint reader cable from the connector on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 2. Remove the two screws (M2x2.5) that secure the power button with optional fingerprint reader to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 5. Lift the power button with optional fingerprint reader, along with the fingerprint reader cable, off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
