Chapter2 Running SETUP and Installing Drivers If you've added options or you want to customize your computer, you can use a configuration program called SETUP, which is contained within the BIOS on the system board. SETUP allows you to change the settings for your hardware configuration, security options, and power-saving features. The configuration information you enter is stored in the computer's ROM (read-only memory) and is backed up by a battery, so it is not erased when you turn off or reset your computer. You may also want to install drivers and utilities for the built-in PCI IDE interfaces and the built-in PCI local bus video interface. You only need to install these drivers if you're using an operating system other than Windows.
