Caution Never install options or change jumper settings when the computer is turned on or the power cable is connected. Removing the Cover You need to remove the computer's cover to install any of the options described or to install or remove a drive (as described in Chapters 5 and 6). Follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer and then any peripheral devices. 2. Disconnect the computer's power cable from the electrical outlet and from the back panel. Also disconnect any other cables that are connected to the computer, including the keyboard cable. 3. If the monitor is on top of the computer, lift it off and set it to one side. 4. Removing the Cover
You need to remove the computer’s cover to install any of the
options described or to install or remove a drive (as described
in Chapters 5 and 6). Follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer and then any peripheral devices.
2.
Disconnect the computer’s power cable from the electrical
outlet and from the back panel. Also disconnect any other
cables that are connected to the computer, including the
keyboard cable.
3.
If the monitor is on top of the computer, lift it off and set it to
one side.
4.
Turn the computer around so the back panel is facing you.
