Follow these steps to perform the bidirectional adjustment: 1. Make sure paper is loaded, then turn off the printer. c Caution: Whenever you turn off the printer, wait at least five seconds before turning it back on; otherwise you may damage the printer. 2. Hold down the Pause button and turn on the printer. The printer enters the bidirectional adjustment mode and prints instructions and the first set of alignment patterns. 3. As described in the instructions, compare the alignment patterns and select the aligned pattern number with the best alignment by pressing the Font (ItemU) or Pitch (ItemD) button. The LCD shows the pattern number that is selected at the time. Press the SetD (Top of Form) button to fix the selected pattern number and print the next set of alignment patterns. 4. Select the pattern with the best alignment for each of the remaining sets of alignment patterns. 5. After you select the best pattern in the final set of alignment patterns and save it by pressing the SetD (Top of Form) button, turn off the printer to exit bidirectional adjustment mode. 124 Problem Solving

Follow these steps to perform the bidirectional adjustment:
1.
Make sure paper is loaded, then turn off the printer.

Caution:
Whenever you turn off the printer, wait at least five seconds
before turning it back on; otherwise you may damage the
printer.
2.
Hold down the
Pause
button and turn on the printer. The
printer enters the bidirectional adjustment mode and prints
instructions and the first set of alignment patterns.
3.
As described in the instructions, compare the alignment
patterns and select the aligned pattern number with the best
alignment by pressing the
Font
(
Item
U
) or
Pitch
(
Item
D
)
button. The LCD shows the pattern number that is selected
at the time. Press the
Set

) button to fix the
