Chapter 12 Troubleshooting General Problems You cannot configure the Ethernet card or print from the network. Cause What to do Printer settings or network settings may be wrong. First, press the status sheet button to try to print a status sheet, as described in Chapter 1. If a status sheet does not print, set the interface mode of the printer's control panel to Auto or Option. If you can print a status sheet, check the network settings. You are unable to set the IP address using the arp command. Cause What to do The network cable may be Connect the network cable. Also, disconnected. check the network environment. The address of the router is set as the default gateway. Set the IP address of your computer for the default gateway temporarily. Cause

Connect the network cable. Also,
check the network environment.
